The human being will always be the same; his fundamental structure as a person will remain as it is now. This condition of permanency is the reason why his “longing for infinity” is not a fleeting episode but a permanent experience. This deep and strong desire is bound to the human being’s very existence. It is much more than a simple wish. It belongs to neither a sentimental nor an abstract dimension; it belongs to the constitutive dimension of the human being. It is not an abstraction. It is something real that, from the depths of the self, orients the person towards his plenitude in the encounter with the transcendent reality from which everything obtains its meaning.” (p. 10)
